A strategy for raising awareness — and funds — for the fight against hunger

Help your congregation promote awareness and support of our presbytery’s Centsability Fund, which supports our annual Hunger Action Grants. Attached you will find several resources, which we hope you’ll adapt as needed to best fit your congregation. The Mission Committee’s goal is to raise $12,000 by the end of the year, and currently the available funds total $9,496.41, Every little bit helps!

Since 1992, congregations and individuals in our presbytery have contributed nearly $370,000 to support hunger relief in north Mississippi. In the last 10 years, Centsability (formerly 2-Cents-a-Meal) contributions have funded 106 Hunger Action Grants benefitting 25 organizations across our presbytery. Some of those organizations include:

  • Churches United Food Bank (Pontotoc)
  • Community Food Pantry (Greenwood)

  • Grenada Food Pantry
  • Hope Ministries (Senatobia)
  • Interfaith Council on Poverty (Hernando) 
  • Leland Food Pantry 
  • Love Packs (Oxford)
  • Panola County Food Pantry (Batesville)
  • Quitman County Food Pantry (Lambert)
  • Sacred Heart Southern Missions (Holly Springs)
  • Samaritans (Horn Lake)
  • Starkville Strong
  • Tippah County Good Samaritan Center (Ripley) 
  • Tutwiler Community Education Center (Sumner)

Individual and group contributions can be made online or by check made out to the Presbytery of St. Andrew with Censtability in the memo line.
